Hybrid photography is a technique that I created myself. Infrared changes the way we perceive the environment, but wrong colour information makes it seem too unreal. Hybrid, however, tries to remedy that. As explained here, mixing the rgb colour channel of a regular camera with either the luminance or the full information of infrared creates a picture that just feels...*wrong* but in a different way than through normal filters. The glowing white of infrared leaves translats into bright green or reddish leaves, seemingly shining from within. Atmospheric effects vanish and suddenly it is possible to see until the edge of the horizon.
